Latehar, Jharkhand: The Latehar police have arrested two militants, including the sub-zonal commander of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), identified as Khurshid Ansari and Fenku Bhuiyan, also known as Sarvanash. The arrests were made after a police operation in the Narayanpur forest area of the Sadar police station.
Police Captain Kumar Gaurav disclosed the information today, stating that Khurshid Ansari is a resident of Pochra, while Fenku Bhuiyan hails from Balumath. The police recovered two AK-47 rifles and eight live bullets from the suspects.
The operation was initiated after the police received intelligence about two militants armed with weapons planning to execute a significant attack in the area. Acting swiftly, SP Kumar Gaurav formed a specialized team to apprehend the militants.
The police team cordoned off the forest and approached the militants’ hideout. Upon spotting the officers, the suspects attempted to flee but were quickly apprehended. In addition to the firearms, the police seized three mobile phones and an internet router from the militants.
Both individuals have several cases registered against them across various police stations, and authorities had been searching for them for several days.
Latehar police station in-charge Pramod Kumar Sinha, along with sub-inspectors Ranjan Kumar Paswan, Devendra Kumar, Surendra Kumar Mahato, Manoj Kumar, Bhagirath Paswan, Ramakant Gupta, Kuber Prasad Dev, Nageshwar Mahato, and Umapad Mahato, played crucial roles in the successful operation. The police praised their efforts in bringing the militants to justice and ensuring community safety.
