Turkey: A tragic attack on the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) facility in Ankara on Wednesday resulted in the deaths of at least five individuals and injuries to 22 others. The country’s Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, confirmed the assault, stating that security forces successfully neutralized the two assailants.

“Two terrorists were neutralized in the attack targeting the Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) at the Ankara Kahramankazan facilities,” Minister Yerlikaya announced on social media platform X. He lamented the loss of three lives and reported that 14 others were injured.

The minister condemned the attack as “heinous,” affirming the government’s commitment to pursuing and neutralizing all terrorists involved. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the assault.

Reports indicate that the attackers included one male and one female, both of whom were neutralized by security forces. Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler expressed suspicions that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) may be responsible for the incident. He remarked to reporters, “We punish the dishonorable PKK members as they deserve over and over again, but they never seem to learn.”

The attack occurred while President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was attending the BRICS Summit in Russia. In response to the violence, Erdogan described the incident as a “vile attack” targeting Turkey’s defense capabilities and national security. He emphasized that the country’s fight against all forms of terrorism and their supporters will continue with unwavering determination.
