Ranchi: The Coal India Medical Conference 2024, hosted by Central Coalfields Limited, wrapped up on Sunday after three days of insightful discussions and presentations at the CCL Headquarters Convention Center.
The event drew over 300 medical professionals from various subsidiaries of Coal India, focusing on the theme “Health Priorities – Present and Future.”
Among the conference highlights was a workshop on diabetes led by Dr. Ankit Srivastava, a leading endocrinologist from Ranchi, on October 26.
Notable speakers included Padma Dr. Randeep Guleria, who delivered a virtual lecture on “Sarcoidosis: Challenges in Diagnosis in India,” discussing the latest advancements in medical technology. Padma Dr. JS Titiyal, also speaking online from AIIMS, New Delhi, addressed “Current Priorities of Eye Healthcare and Future Challenges.”
Other key presentations included Dr. Hrishikesh Kumar from Kolkata, who simplified complex neurological concepts in his talk “Approach to Get Disorder,” and Dr. Praveen Kumar Bansal, a Medical Oncologist, who engaged attendees in a Q&A on “Oncological Emergencies.” Additionally, Dr. Siddharth Satpathy from AIIMS provided insights on “Law Applicable for Hospitals,” while cardiologist Dr. Hrudish Narayan Chakravarty discussed the “Perils and Pitfalls of Insulin Therapy.”
Professor Dr. Dilip Kumar Pahari from Medica Super Speciality Hospital highlighted the establishment of “Dialysis Centres in Tertiary Care Hospitals,” and Dr. Sourav Dutta covered the “Current Scenarios and Future of Cancer Care in Eastern India.” Other contributions included a video presentation by Dr. Sanjib Kumar Behera on “Mini Posterior Approach Incision THR” and a discussion on the “Spectrum of Oncology” by Dr. (Brig.) Arvind Kumar Tyagi.
The conference also featured the presentation of 49 research papers across categories such as Free Paper, Case Presentation, Chairman Award, and DNB Session. Awards were distributed to outstanding contributors, with Dr. Sikha Bhardwaj taking the top DNB prize, while Dr. Gaurav Kumar won the Free Paper category.
As the conference concluded, Dr. Bharat Singh expressed gratitude to all participants and expert speakers for their invaluable contributions, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in advancing healthcare in the region.
