Bokaro: Extending quality healthcare services to underprivileged communities Vedanta ESL, successfully organized a mega health checkup camp at Chandaha Bargad Tola on Monday. The camp was organsied in association with MJM Hospital and Citizen Foundation as part of its healthcare initiative, Project Aarogya.

“The event aimed to provide essential healthcare services to underserved communities in the area,” informed a Public Relations official of Vedanta ESL. The health camp featured five dedicated service desks for seamless operations: Registration, Lab Tests, Medicine, Help Desk, and the Check-up Desk.

Kunal Daripa, Head of CSR at Vedanta ESL, expressed the company’s commitment to community well-being. He stated, “Vedanta ESL Steel Limited believes in giving back to society.

Through initiatives like this health camp, we address the health and wellness concerns of the community, offering free health checkups and promoting awareness about various diseases and treatments.”

The primary objective of the camp was to raise awareness about common health issues affecting rural communities near the ESL plant. The camp offered free consultations and diagnostic services, reaching approximately 250-300 villagers. Services included specialist doctor consultations in Orthopaedics, General Medicine, Paediatrics, and Dermatology, as well as diagnostic services such as Blood Pressure Measurement, Random Glucose Testing, and Weight Monitoring.

Specialist doctors provided free diagnoses and management of conditions like joint pain, paralysis, skin issues, thyroid disorders, hypertension, and diabetes. Pediatric care, including vaccination guidance and neonatal intensive care, was also offered to local families.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Shyamlee Minz, CHRO of ESL Steel Limited, Kunal Daripa, Head of CSR at ESL Steel Limited, Rafik Ansari, Sarpanch of Chandaha, and Mr. Khus Mohammad, PRI Member.

Prominent doctors contributing to the camp included Dr. M G Rasul (MBBS, FAGE – Apollo), who specializes in blood pressure management, diabetes, skin conditions, and thyroid disorders; Dr. Anand Kumar Manjhi (MBBS, MD Paediatrics), a pediatrician with experience in NICU, PICU, and vaccinations; and Dr. Rahul Sinha (MBBS, B.Sc. Hons), an orthopedic specialist focused on joint and muscular pain and rehabilitation.

The health camp successfully assisted over 400 villagers, offering crucial preventive health services and knowledge. Vedanta ESL’s initiative, Project Aarogya, continues to be a cornerstone in the company’s efforts to improve public health and provide accessible healthcare resources to underserved populations.
