New Delhi: In a resounding victory, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured 48 seats in the Delhi Assembly elections, emerging as the dominant force. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured 22 seats, while the Congress party failed to win a single seat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to the people of Delhi, thanking them for the clear mandate in favour of the BJP. In a tweet, he stated, “Jana Shakti is paramount! Development wins, good governance triumphs. I bow to my dear sisters and brothers of Delhi for this resounding and historic mandate to @BJP4India. We are humbled and honoured to receive these blessings. It is our guarantee that we will leave no stone unturned in developing Delhi, improving the overall quality of life for the people, and ensuring that Delhi has a prime role to play in building a Viksit Bharat.”

In a notable development, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal faced a major setback, losing the New Delhi seat to BJP’s Parvesh Verma by a margin of 3,186 votes. Other AAP leaders, including Durgesh Pathak and Somnath Bharti, also suffered defeats. Pathak lost in Rajendra Nagar, while Bharti was defeated in Malviya Nagar.

However, AAP did manage a victory in the Kalkaji seat, where Chief Minister Atishi triumphed over BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri. In Kondli, AAP’s Kuldeep Kumar emerged victorious with a margin of 8,061 votes.

The BJP also secured wins in other key constituencies, with Tilak Ram Gupta triumphing in Tri Nagar and Om Prakash Sharma winning from Vishwas Nagar. In Jangpura, BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah defeated AAP’s Manish Sisodia by a narrow margin of 594 votes.
