Bokaro: Three Vedanta-Electrosteel’s (ESL) employees were felicitated with ‘Chairman’s Award’ for their outstanding contributions in the fight against COVID-19 epidemics.
ESL’s Chief Security Officer Sumit Burman, CSR Department employees Rakesh Kumar Mishra and Riffat Shamim Khan has been chosen as ‘COVID Heroes’ by company’s Chairman Anil Agarwal and felicitated with ‘Chairman’s Award’, informed ESL Public Relation official.
Their efforts were appreciated by the Chairman, said the official.
Besides three employees, the partner organisations JRL Mining Private Limited and Commando Security Force and co-NGOs Dristi Foundation and Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra who have made their full contribution in fighting this battle were also honoured with the ‘COVID Heroes’ award.
Speaking on the occasion Agarwal said, the objective of the Vedanta group is the betterment and development of the community. In this difficult time of COVID, we are giving every possible help to our countrymen with untiring efforts.
I am proud of our employees and all our business partners and NGOs who have protected their community as a family, he said. “Together with our communities and government, these efforts will be continued in the direction of protecting COVID-19. I hope that these steps will inspire others to work in public interest also,” added Agarwal.
