Bokaro: With an aim to preserve and continue the rich Indian culture and tradition, besides providing a platform to exhibit the hidden potential and showcase the talent of the students in various fields of art forms, DPS Bokaro organised an online Cultural Week Competition -Tarang.
The online competitions included the solo song, solo dance, instrumental, tabla, poster making, face painting, calligraphy, rangoli, salad decoration and mask designing. Over a thousand students of the school enthusiastically participated in the online competition expressing their creative fervour, informed school PR official.
The students were divided into two groups according to their grades. Group A (Classes 6-8) and Group B (Classes 9-12). The week long online cultural fiesta for the senior wing i.e. for classes VI to XII began from the last week of July 2020 (24/07/2020 to 27/07/2020) while for the Primary Wing (classes II to V) was held from 4 to 7 August.
The results of solo song, solo dance, instrumental and tabla for the Senior Wing were declared today. In Solo Song – Group A (Bhajan)— Shibakshi Ray (VI/C) stood first, Jai Satvik Madireddy (VI/C)came second while Agrima Prasad (VIII/C) bagged the third position.
Solo Song – Group B (Bhajan)— Anushka Ranjan (XII/G) stood first, Anwesha Ganguly (X/A) came second while Akshita Pathak (IX/D) stood third.
Solo Dance – Group A (Monsoon)— Dhruv Lodha (VI/A) stood first Pranata Banerjee (VIII/B) came second while Vanshika (VII/D) stood third.
Solo Dance – Group B (Patriotism)— Shreya (XII/G) bagged the top spot while Isha Bishwajeet Srivastava ( X/C) came second.
Instrumental – Group A (Motivational Songs)— Viraj Jha (VI/E) got the first position, Pranay Sinha (VIII/C) came second while Avinish Jha (VIII/B) came third.
Instrumental – Group B (Motivational Songs)— Anshul Kumar Singh (XII/A) and Trayaksh Bhattacharjee (IX/C) stood first, Sparsh Kumar (X/C) stood second while Satwik Sokey (XII/C) stood third.
While in Tabla – Group A (Teen Taal)— Keshaw Nandan (VI/C) came first , Aarav Yash (VII/E) stood second while Harshit Prakash (VI/E) and Soumya Bishwajeet Srivastava (VII/A) came third. Tabla – Group B (Teen Taal)— Adhrit Singh (IX/E) secured the first position, Anjdeepta Maan (IX/C) came second while Deepanjan Mallick (IX/A) stood third.
Appreciating the creative endevour, Principal A. S. Gangwar, DPS Bokaro congratulated the students for their enthusiastic participation. “The Cultural Week is one of the many opportunities for the students to express their talent in various performing arts through competitions”, he stated.
Gangwar said that this cultural festival is also unique as the competitions were conducted online.
