Ranchi: A Webinar on “National Education Policy” was organised by Sarala Birla University, Ranchi, Jharkhand, on Tuesday. The Webinar commenced with the introduction of the New Education Policy by Prof. Indranil Manna, VC, BIT Mesra.

Professor Manna introduced the foundations of the New Education policy. In his informative speech, Prof. Manna talked about how important this reform in the education sector is and how significant it is going to be for the education system of the country.

Distinguished guest, Prof. Shailendra Kumar, director, IIM Ranchi, also attracted the attention of the scholars and readers towards the importance of the NEP. He focused on entrepreneurial investments and the holistic learning that could transform the country and take it to new heights. A precise address by Prof. Gopal Pathak, VC, Jharkhand Technical University, Ranchi, is also noteworthy as he emphasised the optimal resourcing and effective governance that is needed in higher education.

The chief speaker of the webinar was Atul Bhai Kothari, National Secretary, SSUN, New Delhi, focused on the implementation of new education policy and its emphasis on the integration of Indianness. He said that the country today is facing the dire need for changes in the education sector. He emphasises on the flexibility of courses in higher education and multidisciplinary and holistic education in the NEP was also explained by him. “Change in nation can only be brought by the change in education,” he added.

The Webinar was conducted under the chairmanship of Dr Pradeep Kumar Verma CEO/VC (I/C) of Sarala Birla University, who leaves no stone unturned to encourage and motivate the learners to adopt New Education Policy.

Prof. Verma also attracted the attention of the learners towards the importance and significance of the NEP and gladly explained that the present National Education Policy 2020 is the first education policy of the 21st century and aims to address the many growing developmental imperatives of our nation.

The focus of the Webinar was the moot shibboleths of equity, integrity, diversity and inclusively. The learned speakers manifested a great deal of hope for the education sector in the country concerning the simmering debate that is going on around it throughout the nation.
Before beginning the session; the learned speaker was welcomed by Prof. (Dr.) V.K. Singh, Registrar of SBU, Ranchi, Jharkhand. In his welcome speech; Prof. Singh focused that the NEP will help to meet the social needs arising especially from the whole and underlined sections of the society.
The session was very interactive, enlightening and informative. A large number of students, participants and faculty members actively participated in the session. Besides the participants and faculty members of Sarala Birla University; a large number of teachers, professors, researchers, students and scholars from various colleges and universities from different states of India participated in the session through online apps. The session was concluded by Dr. Ria Mukherjee, Assistant Professor of English, SBU, Ranchi, India. The Questionnaire session was taken by Prof. Rahul Vats, DSW and vote of thanks by Prof. Sridhar B. Dandind, Dean, Engineering & Applied Sciences, SBU, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
