Bokaro: Aiming to provide a conducive environment for elderly people for better health, peace of mind, and involvement in various activities, a Multi-Activity Center is soon to come up at Bokaro.
ESL Steel Limited – A Vedanta Group Company and Samarth community Forum joined hands together to promote eldercare in Bokaro through Project MACE, supported by the district administration Bokaro.
MoU was signed by Ashish Ranjan, Head CSR, ER & PR, ESL and Asheesh Gupta, Director, SAMARTH in the presence of Kuldeep Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Bokaro.
Project MACE will improve the condition of senior citizens living in Bokaro by offering a supportive environment for health engagement and mental well-being, informed a district administrative official.
ESL and Samarth will ensure that the elderly people will be benefitted through various health care facilities along with periodic consultation; their engagement will be ensured through reading, audio-visual facilities, talks and discussions by experts from various walks of life, sessions in the use of day-to-day technology, money matters, legal advice, and various hobbies to keep them learning and stay agile, said a Public Relations official of ESL.
Notably, the Jharkhand government is already taking care of senior citizens through various schemes and programmes. A Help Line No. 14567 is already providing assistance to elder people on various matters, which is implemented by Samarth in Jharkhand.
Through Project MACE, ESL and Samarth will assist elder people on various Govt. schemes linkages and take care of the rehabilitation of abandoned senior citizens of Bokaro, said the official.
Sanjay Kumar, DGM- ER & PR, ESL, and Rajiv Dubey from Samarth were also present on the eve.
