Bokaro: Aimed at renewing the commitment of employees and the general public to work safely throughout the year, Safety Day/Week was observed at Chandrapura Thermal Power Station (CTPS) on the occasion of 51st National Safety Week.
On the occasion, the Chief Engineer and Project Head Ajay Kumar Dutta and Chief Engineer O&M Sunil Kumar Pandey administered the oath in Hindi as well as in English on safety and health pledge to the employees of CTPS on Friday.
The idea of commemorating the Foundation Day of the Council, 4th March; and the first National Safety Day (NSD) Campaign was launched in 1972 and has since been organised every year. The Campaign now entering its 51st year, has grown into a major national campaign widely celebrated by industry, trade unions, government departments, regulatory agencies, NGOs and institutions with the active support of the Central and State Governments and media.
It has made an impact on the industrial scenario at the national level by contributing to increased safety awareness and reduction in accidents. Starting for a single day on 4th March as NSD, the Campaign has now been spread over a week from 4-11 March.
On this occasion, Chief Engineer and Project Head Ajay Kumar Dutta said that everyone should be dedicated to safety, health, and environmental protection in the oath-taking program.
All the workers should try their best to follow the rules, regulations, and procedures and develop inspirational attitudes and habits to achieve these goals. He fully believed that accidents and diseases make the economy weak and it is injurious to disability and health, causing damage to property, social suffering, and the environment.
Dutta pledged to do everything possible to prevent accidents, diseases and protect the environment in the interest of his family, organization, society, and nation.
Deputy Chief Engineer MK Jha, NP Mandal, SK Sharma, PC Sahu, Deputy General Manager Finance Rakesh Ranjan, Dilip Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Manager Anil Kumar, Ashok Choubey were present on the occasion.
