Sri Lankan Prime Minister Rani Wikremesinghe was among the first to tweet his congratulations to Modi. “Congratulations to @narendramodi on a magnificent victory! We look forward to working closely with you,” he wrote.
Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena too expressed his congratulations.
While calling Modi his friend, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Nethanyahu wrote, “The election results further reaffirm your leadership of the world’s largest democracy. Together we will continue to strengthen the great friendship between India & Israel. Well done, my friend!”
