Bokaro: Shatakshi Shekhar, an eminent lawyer who represented India in the Harvard University, a human rights and social activist addressed the students of classes 11 and 12 of DPS Bokaro with the aim to update them with career options – to break the stereotype and encourage out-of-box thinking. In a ‘Guest Speaker Session’ she deliberated on the need to be zealous and explore varied avenues which we want to opt for career growth as well as for professional satisfaction.

Enlightening the students with her stimulating words, Shatakshi made the students realize that they all have their personal benchmarks which is not enough to leave imprints on the sands of time. She emphasized that one must learn to discipline oneself to get a perception of life. Talking about multiple career options she highlighted that one should always begin by asking oneself what they want the most in life. “If you pursue your passion with perseverance you will definitely excel in your field of choice”, she stated.

She stressed on the importance of reading habits, communicative skills and keeping abreast with the latest information in this fast-changing world. She urged students to focus on diverse career options including Foreign Policy Affairs and International Relations.

The programme concluded with an interactive session wherein children put forward their queries and Shatakshi enhanced their understanding of various career opportunities.
